Day #20 - Pisgah Bay, KY Lake

Thought we better leave the easy marina life and head out to explore some bays around KY Lake.
It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day and we cruised about an hour to our next anchorage "home" for the night. Went on our dinghy to explore the graffitti in an old quarry site. What a beautiful and quiet anchorage today. Scot had to get up about five times during the night because we left the dinghy down and it was making a lot of clatter hitting the swim platform  which kept us up.

All is well on the river except  when you don't see a post is when I have no internet connections, so I usually post when we're under way the next morning.

  1. Hail: the 'Nancy Jo' and all their Looper WannaBes,

Several decades ago when I lived in California; My friend Mark Curtis had a Cal20 sailboat and he had a slip at one of several yacht clubs on the harbor at Newport Beach. He was a member of the club and always exercised great care to fly the club's burgee prior to leaving the slip. It seems the club had a tradition if a boat was observed underway without flying the burgee, the skipper was obligated to buy a round of drinks for the observer and his crew...

From viewing the AGLCA website I see that AGLCA has several burgee color schemes, each of which carry some society distinction. Please publish whatever lore exists surrounding the AGLCA burgees so we all might be more fully informed....
